About Us
Hello! We’re so glad you’ve found your way to our corner of the woods. We are Dan and Robin Timmons, the hands and hearts behind Falling Bark Farm.
Our journey into the world of hickory syrup didn't start in a boardroom, but at a local CSA pickup in rural Virginia. A casual conversation with a farmer about unique heritage products sparked a curiosity that changed our lives. As luck—or perhaps providence—would have it, we soon met a local couple who had spent over a decade mastering the art of hickory syrup. They took us under their wing, mentoring us in the ancient traditions of foraging and the delicate science of small-batch crafting.
Today, we are proud to carry that torch forward on our land in the Virginia mountains. Our process is rooted in the art of wildcrafting:
-
Sustainable Foraging: We hand-select bark from the Shagbark Hickory, harvesting only what the tree naturally sheds to ensure the forest remains healthy and vibrant.
-
Handcrafted Quality: Every batch is carefully brewed, using natural ingredients and the simple, consistent traditions passed down to us.
-
A Labor of Love: Producing this syrup is hard work, but it brings a profound sense of joy and balance to our lives.
When you open a bottle of Falling Bark Farm Hickory Syrup, you aren't just tasting a unique, smoky-sweet tradition—you’re experiencing a piece of Appalachian history and the passion we pour into our craft every single day.
From our forest to your table, thank you for being a part of our story.
